Microsoft has recently released an extension for Google Chrome that enables an added layer of security into the browser that is powered by in-built Windows Defender. Windows Defender has 99% accuracy filtering virus and spam content compared to 87% of Chrome in-built protection and 70% of Firefox.
The Chrome extension is free for users and can be installed from here.
On its browserprotection.microsoft.com site, officials say:
"The Windows Defender Browser Protection extension for Google Chrome allows you to add an additional layer of protection when browsing online, powered by the same trusted intelligence found in Microsoft Edge. The extension alerts you about known malicious links, and gives you a clear path back to safety."
