According to 9to5 Google, Google recently pushed Google App Alpha release version 6.13.5 to some of the random beta testers on the Play store. Some users reported that they can now enable Google assistant on the non-pixel devices and use it very well. Thought this is not confirmed by google officially upto now, chances are that Google may soon expand its AI empire with including Google assistant in the Google App itself just like Pixel phones.
